Tour de Hood promoter Kendra Wenzel and Mt Hood Cycling Classic promoter Chad Sperry along with course set up director Shane Wilson hit the Wy’East course today with a vengence and cleaned up the course where the snow recently cleared. The roads look fabulous and the forest is amazing. It’s going to be a great ride on June 6 and 7! Check out the recent photos of the beautiful and historic Balch Hotel, which is hosting our first rest stop on Saturday, June 6. The owners are planning homemade scones and mini quiches for our morning stop!

Riders cycling on the course roads this weekend have confirmed that the course roads nearly go through and that nearly all roads are clear of snow! We expect the last mile of snow on Hwy 48 to clear by the last weekend of May. Otherwise, we’ll have it plowed.

Riders at the Tour de Hood will be treated to a stop at the historic Balch Hotel in Dufur, Oregon. The Balch Hotel just celebrated its 100th anniversary and continues to operate as a bed and breakfast. Find out more about the Balch Hotel here! >>>>

Tour de Hood has once again secured fruit and fruit bars from local sponsor Gorge Delights for riders to enjoy along the tour route. We’ll also have GU and GU2O to fuel working muscles and ward off the bonk! Check back soon for more updates.
